BJP Announces Election Manifesto Committee for Lok Sabha Polls; NCP Files Complaint Over Campaigning

top-news

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its Election Manifesto Committee for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh leading the 27-member team. The committee also features Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as convenor and Union Minister Piyush Goyal as co-convenor, along with prominent figures like Chief Ministers Vishnu Deo Sai, Mohan Yadav, and Himanta Biswa Sarma. This move comes as the Lok Sabha elections are set to take place in seven phases, starting from mid-April with results expected on June 4.

In a parallel development, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Maharashtra has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission regarding alleged violations in campaigning by the Shiv Sena-led government. The NCP (SP) accused Shiv Sena of using campaign materials featuring high-ranking officials such as the prime minister, Union ministers, chief minister, and deputy CM, which they argue contravenes the Representation of People Act and the Model Code of Conduct.

The campaign landscape is heating up as parties gear up for the electoral battle, with the BJP making strategic moves to shape its manifesto and the NCP raising concerns about fair campaigning practices. These developments set the stage for a dynamic and closely watched Lok Sabha election cycle.
